The Boston University Rocket Propulsion Group have successfully test flown their ASTRo rocket, this was the first ever flight of an actively stabilised 3-DOF high power rocket in the USA and was launched in Price, Maryland.

ASTRo is a test platform for the teams control system that will fly on their Starscraper rocket that will be launched later this year. Starscraper is a 3000lbf  thrust hybrid rocket capable of lofting 45kg to 140km in altitude, it uses direct injection of liquid nitrous into the nozzle exit for stabilisation and control on its ascent up over its long burn time. It was this control system that ASTRo was testing.
